Paying attention only to your outward beauty, that which is “skin deep” is getting your beauty regimen backward!

To truly shine and glow with light, to look and feel and be your best and brightest, begin at your center. The center of your being, your spirit.

Old emotions stuck in your energy field from the past, fear, anxiety, worry, weigh you down and dim your light. Others can feel it and sense it in you.

If you do not like yourself when you look in the mirror, if your spirit is flagging, go deeper into your heart and soul, to your inner light and begin here to reclaim your true inner beauty.

You know you are not at your best when you feel stuck and you worry and fret about your looks. This is a distraction from the true work of your life, the true and joyful work of living from your center.

Begin to gently clear and cleanse and heal and release the stale and stuck emotions of the past. Like exfoliating the skin, it gives your spirit a brighter and healthier glow.

Find help in a trusted healer, counselor, friend, or clergy person when you are ready to begin your healing journey, your journey to reclaim the light you were born with.

This will allow the true light of your inner spirit to shine through and illuminate your life. When you are lit up, you are vital and vibrant with well-being and health. You are unconcerned about how others perceive you.

When you have tapped into this wellspring, you will know it and feel it. You will be too busy doing the true work of your life, you won’t have time to fret in front of a mirror, and won’t need others to validate your looks.

Remember this: True beauty is soul deep.

Learn to feel and know your anger and express it in healthy ways that will fuel you to your highest good and create true justice. When anger is expressed as hurtful rage at others and rotting hatred, great damage is done to the intricate web of creation and will come back to harm the rageful hateful one.

Ask for help as you move toward wholeness, otherwise known as healing. You are a powerful and vital element in the web of creation. Your healing and moving toward the light and releasing anxiety and fear benefits you enormously and creates a healthier and stronger web for all beings.

Dear ones, I ask you to pay attention to the magnificent web of life. Do not take this daily miracle for granted! Turn down the volume on your ear buds, close down Facebook, turn off the news and tune into your heart and body, your spirit. Tune into the music, the voices of nature.

Emotional healing I

Note from Betty: Dear friends, GCW has a lot to say about emotional healing this month. This and the next two posts are variations on that theme.

Dear ones, do not carry the past forward, for it will accumulate and pile up like thunderheads on a windy spring day. It will weigh you down more and more as you grow older.

Let each moment of your life be new. Let the moments of yesterday, last year, decades ago be healed and released. Do not carry the old stale feelings forward for they will taint your present moments.

To let them go, feel them, experience them for that is to live fully in the moment. Listen to your body, do a scan and notice where you feel the emotion. It could be your throat, heart, gut… anywhere.

There is no need to blast a person you are angry with. Anger and other strong emotions need not be harmful to you or others. Use it as fuel for a passionate life!

Love yourself and feel what you feel. You can use your voice to express the emotion, to safely and privately release.

If you let yourself experience your emotions in your body then you will not carry it forward into your future as a dark storm cloud waiting to burst when you least expect it.

Let each moment of your life be sacred as you pay attention to what you are feeling with compassion and self love.

Dear hearts, are you addicted to the news?

I challenge you to turn off the 24/7 news. the constant drumbeat of events reported in minute detail, argued over, rehashed, replayed. This can serve to drag you down! The authoritative voices, the selection of stories can keep your thinking boxed in and contained right where they want you to be.

A news message from Grandmother Cottonwood

This kind of program scares the living daylights out of many and promotes fear and loathing and ratings. Fear can spread through a population like a virus or wildfire, taking many down, dimming their light, obscuring their power, keeping them small, manipulating them into anger!

Do not allow the tentacles of fear from around the globe to penetrate your heart and mind. When the world was young, it was not possible to know what was happening ten miles away, let alone across the globe in the most obscure location until days, weeks, months or even years later….Now it is in your face all the time! It is so much more than you need to know! You are meant to confront and deal with the conditions and emotions of your life and your circle of influence in the here and now.

Of course, there are advantages to knowing what is happening at times. You want to be an informed citizen… Can you find a neutral source of news that does not seek to manipulate your emotions? 

Especially if you are an empath, a sensitive person, please do not take on the crushing emotional burdens of others that this sort of news coverage promotes. It will only deplete and weaken you and keep you stuck .

Take a news vacation. Let the toxic energy clear out of your home and life and body. See how you feel after a week or two… turn your focus and energy to your own projects, plans, dreams, your own clarity and mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical health. Strengthen and empower yourself.

Know this! When you stand in your power, aligned with source, you are a force for good on our planet! This is what you can do to help change the world!
