Healing with a tree

When despair or sadness come over you, take a walk – find a tree and sit at her roots, lean against her trunk.

Now see yourself rooted deeply to the earth. Nothing can topple you. You are flexible and you sway gracefully with the wind, safely and securely anchored.

With the tree’s help, you can release the feelings that drag you down, and know yourself as a powerful being!

Let the despair, the fear, the grief you feel drain into the sweet earth where these energies will be transmuted, neutralized, and healed. Let your feeling be carried down into the earth on your out breath, through the trees roots – for your energies intermingle and become one.

Now imagine breathing earth energy up into your roots and bringing it into your lower body. Allow it to fill you with its calming and peaceful frequency. Allow the gentle tree energy to clear and renew you.

Now with your roots firmly planted, let your energy rise and expand with the trunk, branches and crown, taking in the sunlight and joy of living in this place at this time. Divine energy will fill your being as you allow it to pour through you.

Know the peace, solidity, awareness, and love of your chosen tree. Breathe healing energy from above and below as you merge and experience for a few moments what it feels like to be a column of light, rooted to the earth and reaching to the heavens.

To do this, you must drop skepticism, doubt, and launch your boat into the stream. Life provides limitless possibilities to you, in this, your precious time on earth. 

Gather your courage. Gather your trust in source and expand your life one new thought, one new idea, one new action at a time. Try something new! See where that takes you! Try a new path this time, step forward in a new direction that calls you.

Like a rainbow, where the colors melt imperceptibly into each other, forming delightful new colors and qualities of light, so you can begin to bring in new thoughts that blend with the old, yet take you to a newer fresher place in your mind, heart and spirit.

Dear ones, at times there are life situations that tax our ability to understand; that go beyond our training and life experience. There are questions that even Google can’t answer.

Having the “correct” answers, knowing the facts and getting it “right” are all rewarded in your human world, also appearing wise and intelligent.

Remember this: not knowing everything is an option. Allowing mystery to exist is an option.  Practice saying “I don’t know.” Nothing bad will happen!

Surrender. Release the situation to all that is, the infinite wisdom of the web of all things, the vast knowledge we all have access to without pushing, striving, or struggling.

The answers you seek will come to you when the time is right, at the intersection of your ceasing to push, openness to receive and your belief that the answers will come.

You will have peace of mind more often when you learn the fine art of surrender, the freedom of saying I don’t know, and releasing your grip on needing to be the one with the answers.

Learn to surrender to the wisdom of all that is, to be humble and trust that you don’t need to know everything!

Change

You stand on the forefront of great change. The very earth beneath your feet, the atmosphere that permeates your world are all shifting. You have heard the tired old words about change – that it is inevitable. These words, while tired, are true.

Even great cottonwoods fall, as the earth is washed away from their roots, the wind rises, lightning strikes. The great tree, reduced to splinters. The physical body, living creatures, trees, are all subject to the eternal laws of nature.

All things come into being, all things die, all things are transformed into the earth beneath our feet; food for rooted things, reminders of things and loved ones past. Even the stones will wear away to sand and dust.

Do not weep over what has been. Set yourself firmly in what is now. Embody your life now, even if it is not what you hoped for, dreamed, of, planned. Gather your courage, heart and strength to live in this world as it is now, created from the ever changing web of all things.

Your higher self alone is unchangeable, the one true constant in your life. Some call it spirit, or soul.  While all around you changes, your spirit, the core of your being remains steady, rooted, strong.

Your Purpose

You have come with a purpose in mind and heart. Even if you don’t remember or know it in your conscious mind, life unfolds and guides you toward your purpose, subtly, or pushes you there, kicking and screaming.

Surrender to the unfolding of your precious life purpose.  This is your chance to live fully, to allow yourself to enter the spotlight and become a partner with source of creation.

Perhaps you have other ideas? You life will truly thrive only when you cease resisting the inevitable and listen to the quiet and wise voice of source within your heart and soul.

Perhaps it is long forgotten dreams of your childhood, when you knew without a doubt or second thought you were born to be an artist, a singer, a healer, a speaker, a teacher, a writer…

But over the years, you’ve become conventional – conformed to those who had no vision but felt they must influence you for “your own good”…or keep you small so they could feel large. You gave up on your dreams.

I am asking you to revisit the dreams, visions and passions that made you feel alive and want to get out of bed each morning. Dust them off, shine them up, and step into your true life! – a soul satisfying partnership with the loving, delightful, all knowing source of creation. Dance!

Stream of life

There is no going back. You have reached this point in your life by allowing the flow of existence to carry you to this time and place; this situation; this very moment.

Sunlight ripples on moving water

You know you cannot return to the past, to the smaller self you once were. This is like facing upstream and trying to go against the pull of the current on a flooded river.

You have grown, expanded, and become more than you were. You are larger in spirit, more expanded in heart, wiser. The fears, doubts, and worries of the past are washed away and dissolve like fog before the morning sun.

You are here now, in this body in this place and time with the people who surround you. The stream of life has brought you here.

At any point you may halt your progress, pull out of the stream, get lost in a backwater, beached on a sandbar, foundered on rocks. Will you cling to the shore and stay stuck, or will you allow the current once more to carry you downstream? The choice is yours.

You who wish to progress and move forward won’t be stranded long. You will once again steer for the main channel, the faster moving current of life that takes you effortlessly to your highest good.

Age and spirit

Your bodies may age, your hair my grow gray, your skin my retain the creases of your habitual facial expressions. You may move slower than before. Your children may be adults already and have their own children. You may wonder how you got to this point in your life!

Make no mistake! The invisible soul, spirit, and energy of your being is forever fresh, young and full of passion and enthusiasm, delighted to be here in a body. Your spirit is indestructible, gaining wisdom, knowing, and expansion from lifetime to lifetime without end.

Can you allow your wise self to be a witness to your body for a few moments, and see without judgment the arc of your physical life- from infant to toddler, small child, adolescent, young adult, parent, middle aged, older grandparent, elder, aged, and even then on your death bed? Can you see and know yourself as a free spirit unencumbered by a body? You are all this and more!

Your body is a vehicle for the spirit, limited in time and space. This is so you may focus on the blessings, the challenges, the desires, the conditions of this life, for the advancement, the education and expansion of your soul.

Nature and time

You divide what you call “time” into even increments. You measure the immeasurable with clocks and watches, shiny addictive devices. You live by the schedule imposed from outside yourself. You order your lives according to the numbers and commands of the little gadget in your pocket or on your wall.

You allow your ideas, beliefs, bodily needs for food and drink, rest and sleep to be ruled by a pale and ineffective substitute for the real thing. Do these ideas and concepts and gadgets run your lives instead of the sun that bathes our planet in life giving light? – instead of the cycles of nature?

The more “civilized’ you are, the farther you are from the seasons, rhythms of nature, of sun and moon, and dawn, noon, evening, dusk, planting, reaping, nesting, fledging, aging, death, and rebirth..

You have been created to order your days and nights according to the nuances of sunlight and moonlight, and the needs of your body. This is the wise way of all nature.

Your bodies – all living things are minutely attuned to this light – the angle of the sun, the length of days, the quality of brightness, the position of the sun, moon and stars in the sky…

There is no match for the wisdom of your bodies in concert with the natural world. Work within the wise ways of nature. Become a student of her cycles, her life giving energy.

All time is now, dear ones. There is only the infinite now. It is where you must attend your focus. Pull your mind from past and future, from the pull of your devices, and live in the light, for you will only be balanced, focused and centered in your power in the here and now.

It is the eternal present where the true richness of life unfolds.
