A new day lightens the sky in the east. This is life giving you another opportunity to start fresh. Life allows you the time to reevaluate and renew your life, to grow into the person your spirit calls you to become.
Nature’s rhythms show that you can begin again after setbacks and illness, after disappointments and sorrows. Spring follows winter without fail. The moon cycles through her phases each month. Storms roar through the valley pushing much old growth to the ground, leaving food and light for new life to reach to the sun.
A tree cut off at the ground will sent up suckers reaching for the light. Tender new grass appears after a prairie fire. Green shoots of crocus push through the melting snow in March. The world greens and leafs out finally after a hard winter softens into a joyful spring.
You too after the fires, storms or winters of life have passed may send forth green shoots, leaves, and blossoms and renew yourself. This may look and feel like new energy flowing through your veins, new ideas and creative projects, new vibrancy, a renewed sense of humor and playfulness…passion for life.
The sun will rise again and you will have another day to move toward becoming who you are at the level of your soul, to choose a new thought that supports you in place of the old stale thoughts, to choose a different pattern of being, to tune yourself to a more pleasant feeling, to take the first small step to realizing your dreams.
Of course, patience is your friend as these changes take time and attention and perseverance. Trust and give yourself the grace to accept yourself as you are while at the same time moving toward the new way of being that you desire.
Open your heart to this most amazing gift of a new day.
Are you holding on tight to ideas, grudges, unpleasant thoughts, and old stale energy?
Perhaps you don’t realize what you’re doing, don’t realize how free you could feel when you let go of the old, the habitual thoughts and ways of being that keep you stuck.
Does fear of the unknown keep you from exploring new ways of being, new energy habits, new and fresh ways to live your life?
Start small! Identify one thought that holds you back, puts you down, or describes yourself as a person you don’t want to be. Identify one way you criticize yourself. Lovingly and kingly challenge this thought in your mind each time it comes around.
Try speaking to yourself like this…“Remember, I’m learning to bring in thoughts that lift me up…” “I’m learning kind new ways to talk to myself…” “I’m moving forward in life with new supportive and loving thoughts…”
Be patient as you do this, patient and loving and kind. It takes time to change life long habits!
Like spring cleaning, cleanse away what is stale and no longer useful, the dusty and broken and unhelpful thoughts.
Bring in fresh new healthy thoughts a little at a time and you will begin feel so much better!
Can you stand steadfast when the storms rage? Can you set forth leaves blossoms and fruit when the season is right?
Grandmother Cottonwood, dormant
Can you let go of the old, the superfluous, last year’s leaves when they no longer feed your heart and soul? Can you rest and sleep and pull your attention inward during the long winter, gathering strength for the growth to come?
Can you feel the magnetic pull of mother earth in your roots, allowing them to be pulled into the soil and subsoil so you will be anchored deeply to your home? No matter how high and wide your reach, your deep roots will keep you secure through all seasons and all weather.
Can you allow your branches and leaves to reach and turn to the sun, to soak up and absorb the life giving light and warmth? These precious gifts are freely given to you! They are your birthright!
When you stand tall and steadfast, when you live according to your life’s rhythms, you bless this earth with your presence; you know you belong here, a vital element in life’s tapestry. You will endure!
Dear ones, you will always have another chance to live by the truth of your heart mind and spirit. Have you made grave mistakes? Have you hurt others? Have you done things you regret? Have you wasted the precious moments of your life?
Grandmother Cottonwood, early June
Begin this moment to create thoughts, feelings, and take action in the direction you wish to move. Begin to define who you really are deep at the core of you. Let the person you show to the world match the true you, the inner you. In this way you define yourself as a person of integrity.
You who wish to make changes may still at times cause hurt, still do and say things you regret. My dear, you are not a carving of stone, unmoving and unmovable. You are a fluid being of free well. With time, attention, and commitment you can shift yourself in the direction of love and wholeness and inner peace. Have patience with yourself!
Believe in yourself! You can do this. Make these changes for yourself, the health of your spirit, and the blessing of this planet!
