Letting go

The season of letting go has come around on the cosmic wheel once again. I will soon release this year’s crop of golden leaves that soaked up the sun and fed me all summer. It is the time of the waning year, the waning moon. Time to let go.

I must release my beautiful crown of leaves that shimmered in the breeze through sunlight and shadow, moonlight and midsummer heat. They will not needed during the cold dark months.

Releasing, surrendering, letting go – good practice for the final act of letting go that all living creatures must experience – a rehearsal for death, the great transition.

I bow to the cycles of life and death, to the inevitable. I make ready for winter, withdraw my attention from outward things, pull my awareness inward, down to my roots as my sap cools and subsides.

I will soon be ready for my winter’s rest, my dreaming time. There will be nothing to grasp hold of, no responsibilities, nothing to do or be or have, no agenda, no leaves to maintain. All the trappings of summer – released.

I may seem inert, even dead to those who pass by, yet deep inside, in my roots, below the surface of the soil, my inner hearth fire embers glow, ready to spring into life once again after the long winter nights give way to spring.

I don’t know

Dear ones, at times there are life situations that tax our ability to understand; that go beyond our training and life experience. There are questions that even Google can’t answer.

Having the “correct” answers, knowing the facts and getting it “right” are all rewarded in your human world, also appearing wise and intelligent.

Remember this: not knowing everything is an option. Allowing mystery to exist is an option.  Practice saying “I don’t know.” Nothing bad will happen!

Surrender. Release the situation to all that is, the infinite wisdom of the web of all things, the vast knowledge we all have access to without pushing, striving, or struggling.

The answers you seek will come to you when the time is right, at the intersection of your ceasing to push, openness to receive and your belief that the answers will come.

You will have peace of mind more often when you learn the fine art of surrender, the freedom of saying I don’t know, and releasing your grip on needing to be the one with the answers.

Learn to surrender to the wisdom of all that is, to be humble and trust that you don’t need to know everything!

Your inner light

Take a journey with me to your inner light .

Allow yourself to enter into a meditation where you imagine letting go of everything you own, your body, your identity, everything you think and feel, until only your brilliant inner light is left.

Surrender for a little while your grasp on the physical objects around you. Imagine that there is nothing you need to keep track of, nothing to count, nothing to organize or pay for. Surrender all of it.

Now imagine if you can, your precious physical body dissolving until you are nothing but energy. Release it.

Now imagine letting go of your thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and your identity. Release what is in your mind and heart. You are simply allowing yourself to be with no agenda, no worries, no regrets.

Finally, imagine your spirit floating free and expansive, with nothing weighing it down.

Now, as you enter into this great silence, know the pure light at your center.

Now, slowly come back to your physical existence, retrieving those thoughts, beliefs and feelings that are good for you. Leave the others behind. Now imagine your body regenerating in a way that pleases you. Now once again surround yourself with the objects around you, those that are useful, those that you love. Let the others go.

Allow yourself to feel gratitude for your existence and all the blessings you have in your life.

Let me repeat: You are the light.  Your light is the foundation your entire life is built on and the blueprint for your body. Feel it, be it, know it.
