The Great Meeting Place

I am swimming in this river of life. Sometimes smack in the middle of the fast moving current, surrendering to the flow. Not fighting it.

Sometimes the river of life runs low during dry periods and grounds me on a sandbar for a time, until the rains come and the water rises again.

And then, once again, I give myself to the river, trusting its course and flow as the current pulls me downstream.

The water of this river joins all waters of the earth, all creeks, rivers, streams lakes, inland seas, all melted glaciers, ice and snow. The current’s pull grows stronger.

The flow of all water on our planet culminates finally in the one great meeting place.

This is the ocean, where numberless droplets merge and become one universe of surging and living water, the stuff of life.

When you plant a seed

When you plant a seed you trust in the web of life. You open yourself to the mystery of creation, the alchemy of earth, air, light and water. You affirm life.

When you plant a seed, you stand in the present moment with hopes, dreams and a vision for your future, a knowing of the world you wish to create.

When you plant a seed, you work in partnership with all that is, with the spirits of nature. You become an integral component in the web of creation, a facilitator of life on Earth.

When you plant a seed, you trust in the future and surrender to divine timing, knowing that germination will occur exactly when seed, earth, air, sunlight, and water come into the proper balance and proportion.

You set the process into motion and surrender to the mystery. In this way, you release control and allow the miracle to unfold.

You are a sower of seeds of the plants that feed you, beautify your world, hold the soil across the earth, shade your gardens yards and homes, plants that clothe and shelter you, plants that make this world green and pleasant and clean the air…

Prairie grasses

You also sow seeds of energy and intention. Let the seeds of your intentions run to love and connection. Let them strengthen and unify and heal the web of life. Let your intentions bless this earth and all who dwell here.

You may not know where or how the seeds and intentions you sow will take root and grow.

It is enough to plant your seeds with a trusting and loving heart and allow the miracle you have envisioned to unfold in divine time.

Letting go

The season of letting go has come around on the cosmic wheel once again. I will soon release this year’s crop of golden leaves that soaked up the sun and fed me all summer. It is the time of the waning year, the waning moon. Time to let go.

I must release my beautiful crown of leaves that shimmered in the breeze through sunlight and shadow, moonlight and midsummer heat. They will not needed during the cold dark months.

Releasing, surrendering, letting go – good practice for the final act of letting go that all living creatures must experience – a rehearsal for death, the great transition.

I bow to the cycles of life and death, to the inevitable. I make ready for winter, withdraw my attention from outward things, pull my awareness inward, down to my roots as my sap cools and subsides.

I will soon be ready for my winter’s rest, my dreaming time. There will be nothing to grasp hold of, no responsibilities, nothing to do or be or have, no agenda, no leaves to maintain. All the trappings of summer – released.

I may seem inert, even dead to those who pass by, yet deep inside, in my roots, below the surface of the soil, my inner hearth fire embers glow, ready to spring into life once again after the long winter nights give way to spring.

I don’t know

Dear ones, at times there are life situations that tax our ability to understand; that go beyond our training and life experience. There are questions that even Google can’t answer.

Having the “correct” answers, knowing the facts and getting it “right” are all rewarded in your human world, also appearing wise and intelligent.

Remember this: not knowing everything is an option. Allowing mystery to exist is an option.  Practice saying “I don’t know.” Nothing bad will happen!

Surrender. Release the situation to all that is, the infinite wisdom of the web of all things, the vast knowledge we all have access to without pushing, striving, or struggling.

The answers you seek will come to you when the time is right, at the intersection of your ceasing to push, openness to receive and your belief that the answers will come.

You will have peace of mind more often when you learn the fine art of surrender, the freedom of saying I don’t know, and releasing your grip on needing to be the one with the answers.

Learn to surrender to the wisdom of all that is, to be humble and trust that you don’t need to know everything!

Your Purpose

You have come with a purpose in mind and heart. Even if you don’t remember or know it in your conscious mind, life unfolds and guides you toward your purpose, subtly, or pushes you there, kicking and screaming.

Surrender to the unfolding of your precious life purpose.  This is your chance to live fully, to allow yourself to enter the spotlight and become a partner with source of creation.

Perhaps you have other ideas? You life will truly thrive only when you cease resisting the inevitable and listen to the quiet and wise voice of source within your heart and soul.

Perhaps it is long forgotten dreams of your childhood, when you knew without a doubt or second thought you were born to be an artist, a singer, a healer, a speaker, a teacher, a writer…

But over the years, you’ve become conventional – conformed to those who had no vision but felt they must influence you for “your own good”…or keep you small so they could feel large. You gave up on your dreams.

I am asking you to revisit the dreams, visions and passions that made you feel alive and want to get out of bed each morning. Dust them off, shine them up, and step into your true life! – a soul satisfying partnership with the loving, delightful, all knowing source of creation. Dance!

Your inner light

Take a journey with me to your inner light .

Allow yourself to enter into a meditation where you imagine letting go of everything you own, your body, your identity, everything you think and feel, until only your brilliant inner light is left.

Sunlight covered by clouds

Surrender for a little while your grasp on the physical objects around you. Imagine that there is nothing you need to keep track of, nothing to count, nothing to organize or pay for. Surrender all of it.

Now imagine if you can, your precious physical body dissolving until you are nothing but energy. Release it.

Now imagine letting go of your thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and your identity. Release what is in your mind and heart. You are simply allowing yourself to be with no agenda, no worries, no regrets.

Finally, imagine your spirit floating free and expansive, with nothing weighing it down.

Now, as you enter into this great silence, know the pure light at your center.

Now, slowly come back to your physical existence, retrieving those thoughts, beliefs and feelings that are good for you. Leave the others behind. Now imagine your body regenerating in a way that pleases you. Now once again surround yourself with the objects around you, those that are useful, those that you love. Let the others go.

Allow yourself to feel gratitude for your existence and all the blessings you have in your life.

Let me repeat: You are the light.  Your light is the foundation your entire life is built on and the blueprint for your body. Feel it, be it, know it.
